Dinosaurs have captured the imagination of the world for centuries. So it makes perfect sense that there’d be a movie franchise based on bringing them back to life. Today we’re looking at the dinosaur franchise that made us all remember out childhoods and how strange we were to like man-eating creatures – Jurassic Park.
We did review each movie separately on our podcast which you can check out right here.

The first film of this franchise is still the best viewing after recently binge-watching all five films. We’re sticking by our comments that Jurassic Park really shouldn’t have been marketed to kids because there are some pretty terrifying scenes in these movies.
Seriously, who in their right minds would want to bring back the Velociraptor?
The original cast of Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum were a powerhouse trio that bounced off each other and worked really well together. Two palaeontologists and a Chaos Theory mathematician? Yes, please!
The film focuses on these three characters and a couple of kids later on that end up following the man with the money Mr Hammond to his secret “island” where he has been working away at recreating dinosaurs. Not too many people questioned why until it was too late and even our magical trio were sucked in by the wonder of it all happening right before their very eyes. Well, apart from Jeff Goldblum who seemed to be the only sane person on the entire Island. As it turns out, crap hits the fan (kind of inevitable as humans and Dinosaurs really don’t mix) and mayhem ensues – it’s amazing. And we’ll never get over the level of realism that was created in bringing the dinosaurs to life for this film.
They’re Walking Our Streets-Tagline
The weakest film of the franchise with a small but annoying continuity issue. We just weren’t feeling this from the beginning. And Sam Neill and Laura Dern were very much missed. Thankfully, they’re returning in the next instalment so that will be interesting!
Evolve or Die..-Tagline
This film had one of the best scenes from the entire franchise – the bird cage scene! And added bonus to see Sam Neill return in his iconic role as the hero but not really the hero type. This was much better than the previous film.

Not gonna lie, I like Chris Pratt but for some reason, he didn’t make as much of an impact in this film as I had hoped he would and even though he is the “Action Man” type, I still think Sam Neill made the best “hero” mostly because he wasn’t the action type and he still saved the day!
And last but not least we have…
Life finds a way.-Tagline
Chris Pratt was a whole lot better in this film and really did live up to the part as the Action Hero who actually saves everyone. A little cliche but he played the part well.
And we now know that there will be another film coming in 2022 called Jurassic World: Dominion with both the new and original cast returning! It’s going to be wild and we’re ready…
